NET 2.0 is folder based, so you can edit outside of IIS, even if it is set up in IIS. Yes, this is a workaround. ... when you publish a web through HTTP, the FrontPage Server Extensions configure that directory as an application when it is created. Both are Vista Ultimate with IIS7 running locally. One the one that works, I'm using VS 2005, publishing to HTTP. On the one that fails, but VS Orcas and Expression Web fail.
